It's back already
The fight against assisted suicide is entering a critical phase.
The excellent team at SPUC has produced this short video answering some of the most common questions about the legislation and, crucially, explaining why it is so important that every one of us contacts our Member of Parliament. Personal letters and emails really do make a difference.

At Catholic Unscripted, however, we believe there is another vital part of this campaign.
As Catholics, we have been entrusted with an extraordinary moral witness on the dignity of every human life. At a moment like this, our bishops have a unique opportunity to lead the faithful in prayer, teaching and public action. That is why, alongside contacting our MPs, we are encouraging Catholics to write respectfully to their own bishop, asking him to lead a coordinated diocesan response.
Imagine if every parish was encouraged to pray for the defeat of this legislation. Imagine if parishioners were equipped to write thoughtful personal letters to their MPs. Imagine if Holy Hours, Rosaries and parish initiatives sprang up across the country in defence of the sanctity of life.
This is not about criticising our bishops. It is about asking them, respectfully and prayerfully, to lead us at this crucial moment.
Pope St John Paul II called for “a general mobilisation of consciences and a united ethical effort to activate a great campaign in support of life” (Evangelium Vitae, 95). We believe that time is now.
