Difficult for integration to take place for the following reasons: the indigenous population have decided for materialism; the indigenous population are contracepting their own people out of existence; the indigenous population are aborting their own children; the indigenous population abandon the cult that produced their culture. The materialists will take the money and sell their heritage; the contraceptors don't want any more than one to hand their heritage on to; the child slayers are killing the indigenous population; the practical atheists worship the culture of death. This is Europe. This is America. This is Ireland.

The door to mass immigration was opened from within. Troy is repeated. Falsehoods and empty promises slaughtered a once great people who were blind sided.

There is still a remnant. St. Patrick, pray for them.

Definitely massive challenges regards the prevailing culture. To state the obvious, a sincere and vibrant Catholic culture would be a lot more preferable to receive newcomers into. We have massive and self-defeating obstacles in front of us.

Thanks for taking the time to comment.

No bother, Ciaran. It’ll be fine. God has plan.

I don't know how we get out of this. Where I live, mismanaged immigration has exasperated the housing crisis and now it is so expensive as to be near unaffordable for everyone but the wealthy, thus making the growth of indigenous families financially very difficult. Three hundred people show up to mass every week at my local parish. The priest, however, is barely understandable and after mass mainly spends time speaking to people from his country of origin in a language most parishioners do not understand. But people still clap at the end...so I guess there is that...:).

Very tough economic challenges indeed. In case you have not yet read it, I'd highly recommend the book 'Vandalising Ireland' by Eoin Lenihan. He lays bare the shortcomings of the FDI model that is playing a strong role in making life harder for the middle class to get going in family formation (Moloch and Mammon aside, of course).

Thanks for taking the time.

Interesting and comprehensive article. Thank you.

It seems materialists of all stripes in the West have been slyly chanting a form of 'political catechesis' to women, subverting our natural maternal capacities to receive, conceive and nurture into 'rejection' 'misconception' and ''destruction'. The 'mater' in materialist (the 'motherland') has been turned against the 'pater' in 'patrimony' (the 'fatherland').

As scripture says: 'If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand' (Mark 3:24) and 'Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and a divided household falls' (Luke 11:17).

Maybe we in the West are back in the garden of Eden. But, we worship a God who knows his way out of the grave. We have Mary, Our Blessed Mother, the New Eve, to intercede for us and guide us, and Holy Michael Archangel to defend us in this day of battle.

In Japan, the Faith endured underground through several hundred years of persecution.

I can recommend this recent talk for First Things by Mary Harrington entitled: Our Crisis is Metaphysical

Very interesting point regards 'mater'

I'll definitely listen to that FT lecture. Big fan of Harrington's.

Thanks for taking the time.

Hi James,

It is unfortunate if that impression was given from the piece. I certainly do not dislike ye.

It is inconceivable to older voters for FF and FG that their parties, whom they considered conservative but populist, have been turned into left liberal lite by a cabal of "advisers" and materialist haute bourgeois.

This transformation of our nation was never announced, just imposed. Only the useless micro party Aontù (honourable exception young Lawless) and Independent Ireland, especially O'Flynn, and Carol Nolan make any effort to represent what every poll shows is a national desire to stop and reverse migration.

Over 35% rejected gay marriage and abortion, over 65% rejected the sinister efforts to "modernise" our Constitution, the one the Irish people gave themselves in a 1937 plebiscite. Who speaks for them?

The FG crowd represent the landlord class and the professions parasitical on them - lawyers, tax specialists, auctioneers etc. FF represent the class which beggared the country mid 2000s, and also the same professions. They both enabled radical gay open borders nutcase O'Gorman to invite in the dregs of the 3rd World, useless parasites.

Why? If we are spending over 1 billion per year on 100,000 Ukranians, how much of that ends up with FFG financial backers? Likewise the 1.5 billion spent on bogus "asylum seekers".

SF are a socialist party who chase where they think voters are, not with any principle. Google the statement by heir apparent Toireasa Ferris on why she was leaving a socialist, nationalist but no longer republican party. SF is ruled by a politburo at Connolly House in West Belfast, the chubette middle class McDonald and vacuous O'Neill are puppets only. As for PbP, aka Irish franchise of UK Socialist Workers Party.....

Ken O'Flynn is an open gay man but for the liberals not the "right kind" of gay. He really gets under the skin of obese Trotskyist Coppinger, who has her very own south Asian at home.

The harm done to this country by Varadkar, O'Gorman, nepo baby McEntee, traitor Meehole, and their likes will take a generation to ameliorate.

1. Seal the border, and send back anyone coming through NI without entertaining any applications. UK is such a safe country that people are crossing the Channel in inflatable boats for its safety. That's 80% stopped straight away.

2. Those who come without the documents they destroyed are detained until they produce documents. If need be build a new detention centre.

3. Pass legislation to allow retired members of the Garda to act as asylum assessors, no appeal. These endless appeals merely enrich, as ever, our parasite legal professions. Amend Constitution if needs be.

4. Ignore the media menopausal harridans and tell them piss off. Remove all subsidies, VAT, etc on media. Put bankrupt RTE into liquidation and start anew.

5. Once a preliminary refusal of asylum and deportation is made, cease all payments.

6. Defund ALL NGOs. If they have any value, let their liberal supporters fund them.

Thanks for reading. Your exasperation is palpable and, if I may, I'll offer a few points in reply. While official data from a neighbour like Denmark -- around per capita violent criminality and financial extraction from the state -- does paint a terrible picture, it is worth remembering that the newcomers who are taking advantage of our absurd system are merely humans responding to incentives. Frustration is understandable and radical change is required, but we must also be wary of venturing into the realm of dehumanisation.

The same might be said about our elected leaders. Though I agree they have done huge harm to our nation with their "open society" and global capitalist agenda, they too are humans -- some with families -- responding to worldly incentives (EU and radical NGO pressures around creating denationalised "global citizens", keeping Ireland's economic model rolling through imported labour etc).

As per your proposed solutions, some serious change of course is required -- with a seemingly rather successful example set for Ireland by Denmark's left wing government (who have managed to avoid much of the horrific carnage seen in their neighbouring Sweden). You may enjoy this recent article about Denmark by another Catholic site: https://leomagazine.substack.com/p/the-danish-exception?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android&r=e646k

Yet I cannot help but think that marrying clarity of mind with charity of heart is the way to chart the path forward (perhaps unsurprising that a Catholic would say this!). If nothing else, such an attitude will make it easier to win normal people over who are more "mainstream" in their outlook and are not yet fully aware of the (objectively quantifiable, evidence based) mess we are in.

Thanks again for reading and taking the time to comment.

God bless,

Ciarán.
