At this time when many young Catholics sense that something is profoundly disordered in both Church and society, Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò Apostolic Nuncio to the United States from 2011 to 2016 and secretary-general of the Governorate of Vatican City State from 2009 to 2011, took the time to address a gathering where both Katherine and I were also invited to speak with the clarity and severity of a shepherd convinced that neutrality is no longer possible. In his address, he frames the present crisis not as a series of unfortunate misunderstandings or administrative failures, but as a coherent spiritual revolt against the Kingship of Christ in both Church and State. I have to say I thought his message was just what they needed to hear. It is unmistakably aimed at a generation searching for meaning, authority, and sacrifice. It calls young Catholics to reject complacency, recover a supernatural vision of history, and understand their lives as part of a real spiritual battle whose stakes are nothing less than truth, freedom, and salvation. He has allowed me to share this address with you in full here:
