In his second letter to the Corinthians, St Paul warns against the temptation to follow a false spirit, for;

“Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.” 2 Corinthians 11:14

Towards the end of last year, New York Times columnist and host of the Interesting Times podcast, Ross Douthat, spoke with Noor Siddiqui, founder of Orchid, a company offering to genetically engineer a ‘healthy child’, not just for hard cases, but as the standard procedure for all.

Noor is pretty, young, has large Bambi-like eyes and the kind of lips women pay for. Like the Simons Fashion advert promoting assisted suicide in Canada, one is drawn to her apparent beauty. But it is just that, ‘apparent’.
