Thanks Mark. I agree 100%. The strategic ambiguity that began in the 60’s is coming to full flower in synodality and it is dangerously subversive of orthodox Catholicism. They tiptoe around and bow toward doctrine while contradicting it the name of mercy and pastoral care. Calling attention to the irony (hypocrisy) regarding the treatment of the SSPX should not be ignored. The irony becomes absurdity and perhaps reveals a more subversive dynamic at play.
Let us not forget that the SSPX received an excommunication (under appeal, so invalid) whilst the Chinese Communist Party of China are allowed to do exactly the same thing by the very same Pope. At a glance, the SSPX seem to be marginally closer to all things Catholic by any measure you might use (at least were) compared to the Communist Party of China who have been accused of allowing the sale of the body parts of prisoners in jail like Falun Gong members and Uyghurs for those who require them. It is still early days in the synodal process. Things will get much worse. I'm sure "There can be no Christianity without Mohamad" is not too far down the road.
Well said Mark. After having read Sr Becquart"s ( on the picture) word salad on Synodality and LBGTQ issues ( of which she seems to be a staunch supporter) I very much doubt that I would have any interest in " walking together " with her. It seems all too obvious in which direction she and other progressive church leaders want to take us.
We, the faithful, don't allow ourselves to be fooled by endless words of inclusion, diversity, walking together, etc.
